Introduction: The Knowledge of God alone is complete. Mankind learns over the ages. It is our hypothesis that as the knowledge of mankind increases, it approaches the Knowledge of God. For Muslims the Holy Quran exposes a minute part of the Knowledge of God. Here attempts are made to indicate correlations between the Holy Quran and science.
Formation of universe in the Holy Quran: GOD spells out the creation of the universe in four Verses of the Holy Quran.

Yusuf Ali 41:9
Say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds.
Yusuf Ali 41:10
He set on the (earth), mountains standing firm, high above it, and bestowed blessings on the earth, and measure therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in four Days, in accordance with (the needs of) those who seek (Sustenance)
Yusuf Ali 41:11
Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."
Yusuf Ali 41:12
So He completed them as seven firmaments in two Days, and He assigned to each heaven its duty and command. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights, and (provided it) with guard. Such is the Decree of (Him) the Exalted in Might, Full of Knowledge.

In Verse 41:11 above we are informed that the sky and the earth came together willingly. We hypothesize on the meaning of ‘willing coming together’ to be cold flow of the gases during the formation of the universe.
Science on formation of the universe: The two models of formation of the universe are considered in file:///home/chronos/u-a5a5880a0ec62c38e2446da3db290e5e4cdb857f/Downloads/noguchi2018.pdf published on July 26, 2018. Quoting from the article, we have:
The Milky Way galaxy provides an excellent test bed for models of the chemical evolution of galaxies because its individual stars can be resolved and examined in detail, unlike most other galaxies. … How star formation proceeds is largely governed by how the primordial gas accretes onto the forming galaxy. The longstanding paradigm—the shock-heating theory—argues that the gas that entered the dark-matter halo is heated to a high temperature by a shock wave that provides sufficient pressure for the gas to maintain equilibrium within the gravitational field of the halo. Then, the gas cools by emitting radiation and accretes gradually to the forming galaxy at the centre (hot-mode accretion). On the basis of detailed numerical simulations, a different hypothesis has been put forward that proposes that a substantial part of the primordial gas remains cold and reaches the galaxy in narrow streams in an almost freefall fashion (the ‘cold flow’ theory).
We believe the free fall model describes the ‘willing coming together’ of the sky and earth.
Conclusion: Whether the above phenomenon is what is implied by Verses 9 to 12 of Chapter 41 of the Holy Quran or there could be other interpretations is known to God only. We hope more correlations between the Holy Quran and science would emerge in future. We conclude with prayers to God.
